This payrus depicts the Bust of Nefertiti. Nefertiti, which means "the beautiful woman has come”, is one of the most famous and beloved of all ancient Egyptians. Nefertiti was the wife of Akhenaten and his greatest lover. She played an important role with her husband in instigating the monotheistic religion of Aton. She was known by many of her people as "Ruler of the Nile," "Daughter of Gods," and "Empress of the Mediterranean." One of the best known Egyptian treasures is her bust that can be found in the Egyptian Museum in Berlin. Her life is still a mystery although much speculation has been done about where she came from and her mysterious disappearing. Her body has not been found until now.
