Egyptian Papyrus is the first paper in history. The word Papyrus in Egyptian came to be Paper in modern languages.
The Papyrus plant was discovered by the Ancient Egyptians from 5000 years ago and they worshipped it for two reasons:
- Firstly, the flower looks like the sun and they had Amon Ra (god of the sun).
- Secondly, the stem looks like a triangle which is the shap of the pyramids the symbol of eternity.
Egyptian Papyrus Paper is an everlasting paper, we have found paper just like this in the tombs and temples of the Ancient Egyptians as for back as 2700 BC these Papyrus from Egypt we discovered are in perfect condition.
Over time, the technique for manufacturing papyrus was long forgotten, but in the late 1940's, a well-known Egyptologist rediscovered the secret of how the Papyri were made 5000 years ago.
